The HLTAID0011 Provide First Aid (includes HLTAID009 Provide Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation ) provides participants with the skills and knowledge to assist in almost any emergency situation involving first aid. The course is Nationally Accredited and WorkCover approved. The course covers topics such as
- anaphylaxis
- asthma
- CPR techniques on adults, children and infants
- incident reporting
- how to properly assess an emergency situation
- DRSABCD
- using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- first aid procedures for bleeding, burns and fractures
- managing medical conditions such as epilepsy and asthma
- managing medical emergencies such as snake/spider bites, poisons and choking
- infection control procedures
- managing exposure to extreme temperatures
- administering first aid for eye & soft tissue injuries
- assessing and moving sick & injured
- legal responsibilities of a first aider
- basic anatomy
- managing shock
The certificate is valid for 3 years. Certificates are issued within 1 business day.

Course Times: Wednesdays: 9:30 - 11:30am. and 1.30 - 2.30 (express)
Saturdays: 8:30 - 10:30am. and 10.30 - 11.30 (express)
Most courses are blended. The theory component is completed online. This online learning can take between 1 to 4 hrs, depending on how familiar you are with the content.
Face to face courses are available and take between 4-6 hours to complete
