HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is a nationally recognised unit designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations.
Participants will learn the following
- how to recognise the signs of a cardiac emergency, such as unresponsiveness or abnormal breathing,
- how to apply the DRSABCD action plan to manage the situation safely.
- how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants
- The correct use of the automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
This training is highly hands-on, giving learners the opportunity to practice these life-saving techniques in a simulated environment to build confidence and competence.
The HLTAID009 unit is suitable for individuals across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, fitness, and community services, or for anyone who wishes to be prepared in the event of a medical emergency. Upon successful completion, participants will have the ability to perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, making them valuable responders in emergency situations.
